He Is Risen... (disbelief).

𝙃𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙍𝙞𝙨𝙚𝙣, but some are confused with the nonsense.

𝙃𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙍𝙞𝙨𝙚𝙣, but some will believe, deny and ask everyone around to be silent.

-> Not only did all the disciples at one point not believe Jesus rose from the dead, but the guards at the tomb saw what had happened and were paid off the truth with “hush money”.

Have you ever felt like this Easter “Jesus stuff” was nonsense, because it doesn’t make sense in your world? The disciples felt that too.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙨: (Luke 24:9)

“When they (the women) came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven (Jesus’ 11 disciples, Judas Iscariot was gone) and to all the others. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. **But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense.”

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙙'𝙨 𝙍𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 (𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙢𝙗): (Matthew 28)

“While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, **they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day.”

💭𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮? Jesus, only Jesus can open our minds to understanding all of this! Even Jesus’ own friends (disciples) needed the Lord to help with this understanding. We too need to go to the Lord and ask for understanding. Only the Holy Spirit (Christ in us) and GOD’s WORD (scriptures) can make sense out of what seems nonsense. Look, Jesus himself points the disciples back to the Old Testament scriptures after He arose! His own Words.

𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙤𝙬! .....Luke 24:45-49 ”Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” (..then Jesus blesses them and ascended into heaven).

𝙂𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜: “they did not believe”: (ēpistoun)

To be unfaithful, disbelieve, refuse belief, prove false. From apistos; to be unbelieving, i.e. disbelieve, or disobey.

💭Part of belief is questioning, but part of belief is obedience in faith. Part of belief is finding the truth in His Word.

Trust in the Lord and He will reveal Himself to you. (Paraphrasing Proverbs 3:5-6).
